Each summer all FCDS employees attend a two-week orientation and training program to prepare for the upcoming school year. This year they were fortunate to hear an insightful presentation from Dr. Tamara Venit-Shelton, Professor of History at Claremont McKenna College. "Toward Greater Understanding: History of the AAPI community in the U.S. and California" allowed our employees a glimpse into the culture and diverse experiences of many of our families. Dr. Venit-Shelton is the author of two books and is renowned for her research on the everyday lives of the Asian American Pacific Islander Community.
