International Days Celebrate Family Cultures
The Foothill community holds an astonishing amount of cultural diversity! International Days celebrated that with a theme of "Sharing Our Stories". Families submitted videos, students wore cultural dress, parents visited the classroom and taught about their history, and of course...there was the yummy food from around the world. We welcomed three special guests this year: Gabrielino-Tongva elder Michael Whitehorse, author Janice Munemitsu, and Red Boy Productions (pictured).

Foothill Teacher Loses Home to Fire - How You Can Help
This is not an art piece; it is an actual photo of Mrs. Myrick-Causey's home. Many people are asking how they can help our 5th grade teacher and her family. A Foothill parent has started a GoFundMe to benefit them after an electrical fire consumed their home and all their belongings. If you would like to contribute to immediate needs such as temporary housing, clothing, and basic necessities, please visit the GoFundMe page here: https://gofund.me/0e1f94df

National Merit Scholar Finalist!
For the 3rd year in a row, a Foothill alum has qualified as a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Please join us in congratulating Mirabel Raphael `20! Mirabel is not only an alumna of FCDS, but she is on staff as part of our team of Debate coaches! She will be graduating from The Webb Schools in May. To earn this distinction, students must test in the top 1% of PSAT scores, and must submit strong academic performances, an essay and recommendations.
