Community Meetings
"Community" is a daily assembly that dates to Foothill's founding. This gathering is part of the community life at Foothill occurs daily at both Seedling preschool and the Kindergarten - 8 campus. School-wide announcements are made, along with the pledge of allegiance. The group sings a few songs together, birthdays, student successes, and team wins are celebrated. Community meetings are a positive anchor to our students as they begin their day, and they remind us that we are part of a Foothill family.
Every 4th - 8th grade student presents a community talk at least throughout the year on pre-determined topics such as cooperation, self-respect, honesty, etc. Parents, homeroom teachers, and/or advisors are responsible for helping students prepare their talk, which is often a reflection of their own culture and beliefs. Parents are welcome to attend!
About a dozen community meetings are set side each year as Cultural Community Meetings, which usually include both children and parents, and provide education on faith-based and cultural celebrations.
