After School Sports
Home of the Falcons!
Like all learning at Foothill, sports instruction is intentionally designed. In the Lower School, the focus is on acquiring basic skills. Your student will participate in sports through their PE & Wellness classes and through after school Enrichment Classes. In grades 5 & 6, students are expected to participate in 3 athletic competitions each year as a bridge to Upper School sports. These one-day, tournament style competitions support the skills learned in their day classes and give students a chance to test their skills against other schools. We also have a school-wide golf tournament open to all students each spring.
Upper School is where the real games begin! Students in grades 7 and 8 my choose to participate in any of 7 competitive sports each year, which are:
- Flag Football
- Volleyball
- Cross Country
- Track
- Archery
- Basketball
- Soccer
Practices take place afternoons from 3:45-5:00pm. Foothill’s competitive sports programs are free to participants. If you are lucky, you might even get a visit from our new mascot, Finlee Falcon! Finlee joined our team as part of Foothill's 70th birthday celebration in 2024. His name is an acronym for
Friendship
Inclusive
Nurturing
Learning
Exciting
Excellence.
All these are qualities that we hope to instill in our athletes.
