    Millionaires Club Announced

Each year a few students accept the challenge to read 1,000,000 words, as measured by their Accelerated Reader (AR) comprehension quizzes. When they succeed, they become members of Foothill's Millionaires Club. For context, the entire Harry Potter series of 7 books is about one million words! That's a big goal, and amazingly, some of our students have already reached it, just a couple of months into the school year! 4th grader Evelyn A. has gone even further and read TWO million words! Please join us in congratulating our first inductees: Teris H., Ishaan M., Daryn M., Sammie C., Riona L., Charlotte S., Sanjay D., Isaac L., Grace Z., and Evelyn A. Not pictured- Lucca M.

ABCs to PhDs: Foothill Celebrates 70

The Claremont Courier marked Foothill's 70th year with front page coverage in a special edition of the Claremont Courier called ABCs to PhDs, a fitting moniker for our school, and for the wider Claremont community. We are proud to be a part of a community that values education from the preschool level extending to the Claremont Colleges. Read the special section and enjoy the photos of our students in action. 500 Students and Faculty Create Aerial Art for the Sky

In celebration of the school's 70th Anniversary, hosted artist Daniel Dancer who led students and faculty in a three day adventure. The goal was a large-scale, collaborative art project that brought the entire school community together in a breathtaking display of creativity, unity and environmental awareness. Art for the SKy emphasized the need to for collective creativity and the 30,000 foot view needed for the next generation of society's leaders. Using their "sky sight", our students recognized that they are a small but crucial piece of a bigger picture (in this case, a falcon). You can watch a video about how we did this project on our FCDSFalcons Youtube Channel here: https://youtu.be/S--9gcEikLM
