Tantalizing Talents!

Foothill Country Day School is lucky witness to student talent daily -- academic, athletic, social and artistic.    A different blend of abilities emerged on stage at the May 20th Talent Show, providing witness to honed skills, imaginative performances, and humorous acts not typical of campus life.

Announced and lauded by FCDS Student Council’s nascent, fun-loving Emcees,  students of all ages paraded their talents to an excited and camera-ready audience of  staff, families and friends.  Astounding solo singing and piano performances, graceful Kindergarten ballet Swans, an intricate and amazing cultural dance from India, light and dance numbers, martial arts demos, a comic magic act, and lip-synching to notable pop songs filled the evening with fun, costumery, and some notable skill.  The show was topped with the strum, song, and bang of a guitar-drum trio, sending the audience grooving happily into the night air, with pride in all performers’ stage debut.

Special commendations are due to the FCDS Student Council, under the sponsorship of Amy Orr, who planned and coordinated the production.  In an extraordinary demonstration of the FCDS character trait of responsibility, these Student Council members  auditioned acts, organized performers, ran the technical rehearsal, created programs, crafted posters, decorated the school, sold pizza and snacks, watched kids backstage, moved props, and cleaned up afterwards.  Whew!  Thanks also go to the staff who supported the event: Mrs. Currier, Mr. Collins, Mrs. Lawshe, Mrs. Lofgren, and Mrs. Chan.
