The students in Mrs. Orr’s third grade were each assigned one of the United States. Their reports were broken down into four sections: places to see, state history, state geography, and state flag. They gathered information from their netbooks and state books. They made notes listing the facts they discovered and then they drafted paragraphs from these notes. Mr. Atkinson, director of technology, taught them how to save their work onto their flash drives. Mrs. Clark, librarian and technology teacher, worked with each child to find a color picture that corresponded with each paragraph. She helped them learn how to search for images and import them into their word processing documents. All of the work for the state report was completed at school and without any parental involvement. What wonderful work was accomplished by all of our third grade students!
