Capital Campaigns provide funding for a specific project or goal designated by Foothill’s Board of Trustees such as constructing or renovating facilities or expanding the endowment. A capital gift is generally given over one or multiple years. Foothill’s annual operating budget does not cover facility improvements and endowment growth. Specific fund raising campaigns are designated to address these needs. The support of these campaigns comes from gifts over and above those designated for the Annual Fund.More than a decade ago, the Board of Trustees successfully embarked on a Master Plan to renovate the entire campus thus ensuring the viability of Foothill Country Day School well into the 21st century. To fund the major projects, the school initiated the Phase III Capital Campaign, Building on Tradition, Preparing for the Future. Thanks to the generous support of the entire community, the campaign raised $2,100,000 (the goal was $1,200,000). Many of the newest facilities on our campus -- The Randall Lewis Family Auditorium, The Julianne Armstrong Center for the Arts, The Allen Gymnasium, The Ann Gallagher Science Center and the Betty Webb Library -- were funded through major gifts from current and past parents and alumni.
